Forbidden Technologies today announces the use of its FORscene web-based post production platform as the base for IBCs first citizen journalism project. The project allows show attendees to contribute their own video stories about whats hot and whats not at this years IBC through their mobile phones.
News clips will be sent to the IBC Citizen TV base using FORscene, and with Forbiddens mobile player and compression technology, the IBC news team will edit daily video coverage using FORscene, which automatically formats and compresses the video into mobile-size clips. To ensure a variety of contributions, IBC Citizen TV has also distributed Nokia N93 smartphones to a mixture of contributors from students to delegates.
To take part in the project, attendees can go to www.ibccitizen.tv to download the Forbidden FORscene player to their smartphone. They can then follow the simple directions onsite to send their video clips. Alternatively, attendees can go to Forbidden Technologies stand (hall 2, stand 110) to submit via bluetooth, avoiding call charges.
"We are delighted that FORscene has been chosen as an integral part of IBCs first venture into citizen journalism,"
said Stephen Streater, CEO, Forbidden Technologies.
"FORscene is also being used by IBC TV News to provide mobile video highlights for the third consecutive year, and this shows the recognition it is now receiving as a viable web-based alternative in production."
