Blackbird enables production from anywhere, removing the need to travel to a facility or event and also eliminates the need to transit material to and from multiple local storage environments. Proven to reduce carbon emissions by up to 91% compared to traditional video editing workflows, Blackbird also reduces infrastructure costs by up to 75% due to its cloud native architecture.

Compute

Blackbird Edge runs on EC2 VMs with a variety of scaling options for anything from small to enterprise deployments. Multiple Edge nodes can be run in a grouped configuration to deliver scaling and resilience as well as optimize performance to meet the demanding needs of media organizations.

Storage

Blackbird S3 integration covers the interchange and interoperability of high bitrate media through Blackbird Edge as a gateway between content and users – no direct access to buckets is required for end users and no high bitrate movement is needed for editing. On export, Blackbird can push finished media and metadata to S3 for onward workflows and distribution.
