Blackbird’s latest update builds upon the February release with support for additional HDR colourspace handling on ingest to broaden the support for high quality content.
The latest upgrade to the Blackbird platform is due to be released on 25th March 2025 and will be made available during a maintenance window of 11:00-16:00 GMT (7:00-12:00 EST) on the day.
Advanced colourspace management
This release adds support for Perceptual Quantizer (PQ) in addition to the previously release HLG format support which was released in February 2025. Perceptual Quantizer enhances HDR video editing by making brightness and colors appear more natural to the human eye.
Publishing to X
Blackbird has now updated our existing X (previously Twitter) integration to allow for ongoing fast publishing to the X Media Studio and X posts directly for our Media and Entertainment clients with presence on X.
