We’re pleased to share details of our latest Blackbird platform update. This release focuses on refining existing features and carrying out essential maintenance to ensure continued performance, reliability and security.The update is scheduled for release on 24th February 2026 and will take place during a maintenance window from 11:00–16:00 GMT (6:00–11:00 EST).
Border effect for Vertical Video
We’ve improved the existing border effect to better support multiple aspect ratios. This update also gives you greater control over background image positioning, zoom and blur settings making it easier to create polished vertical content.
Edge operating system updates
Blackbird Edge runs on a Debian based operating system or container image. If your server has not been updated recently – support will be scheduling your routine updates with you.
