Blackbird is transitioning to a browser based editing application

To all Blackbird users:

We are thrilled to announce that Blackbird is transitioning to a browser based editing application.

As part of this transition you will be able to login into your existing Blackbird account using a web browser (Chrome recommended) with no requirement for Java applet configuration or installation of the Oracle Java runtime.

For those who continue using Java, Oracle will be charging for licences beyond 1st January 2019.

All existing Blackbird editor features are being made available in a phased release plan. The browser based Blackbird editor will transparently replace the existing Java editor launcher in due course. Please validate that your workstation meets the required specifications in advance of the transition to JavaScript.
