2015 was undoubtedly Forscene’s most successful year in sports. We diversified our client base and significantly increased the number of seasonal and one-off sports events that utilised Forscene’s post-production and digital distribution services. A key reason for our success in the sports sector is our ongoing relationship with deltatre, a leader for 30 years in digital media & broadcast services.
Over three decades, deltatre has made worldwide strides with its innovative work across integrating digital and broadcast workflows. Working on many of the world’s highest-profile competitive events, deltatre today is servicing major broadcasters, federations, leagues, brands, clubs and sports organisations globally.
After first working together on the 2012 Olympics, in 2013, deltatre partnered with Forbidden to integrate Forscene into digital solutions for their global sports industry clients. Since then the partnership has continued to grow and prosper.
In 2015 we announced our joint Forscene – deltatre – Microsoft Azure workflow which was used on the First European multi-sport Games held last summer, and 2016 has already seen deltatre renew existing football, golf, rugby and cycling agreements for this year and beyond. We are currently working closely on a number of one-off event and long-term seasonal opportunities that will both diversify the portfolio of sports using Forscene through deltatre, and add to our ongoing sports vertical growth.
Over the past few months we continue to enhance the Forscene experience for use on deltatre workflows, including:
- the integration of live Opta data feeds into the Forscene editor enabling search of play-by-play metadata
- ingest and conform of 50Mb content for broadcast playout purposes
- import of EVS EDL’s enabling on-venue pre-cut packages to be available to Forscene editors
- the ability to automatically add graphic animations (top and tails) to cut sequences when publishing from Forscene
- publishing directly to social media platforms and industry CDN’s
We look forward to continually adding value to sports workflows and demonstrating Forscene’s capability of bridging the broadcast post, digital and social requirements of live sports producers within a single Forscene platform.
