Leading international production company expands its use of Forbidden’s tools
Forbidden Technologies today announced that Endemol UK, one of the largest independent production companies in the country and makers of Big Brother, has extended its use of FORscene into the production of Sex Education Vs Pornography for Channel 4.
FORscene’s logging and rough-cut editing tools provide access to rushes through a web browser. This allows the production team to select content ahead of post-production reducing the time and effort needed to process a large amount of content.
Shooting for Sex Education Vs Pornography took place across the country and rushes were digitised by post production house Crow TV. Whilst digitising, rushes were logged by Endemol UK loggers so that producers and directors could access content to create rough-cut edits and access material when in the edit suite. Once edits were complete, playouts from Crow were uploaded into FORscene for commissioners’ and legal approval.
Gill Cooke, Production Executive said:
“Following the recent successful use of FORscene on Celebrity Rehab, we were confident that it would prove to be the perfect tool for this quick turnaround production. Benefits have been remote access and ease of viewing for Executives and Commissioners.”
Endemol UK is part of Endemol – a global leader in entertainment that comprises an international network of companies that spans over 20 countries in five continents. Endemol UK annually produces over 5,000 hours of output. It incorporates a number of production brands including Brighter Pictures, Cheetah Television, Initial, New State and Zeppotron.
Stephen Streater, CEO of Forbidden Technologies, said:
“FORscene’s range of features coupled with a consistently high level of service is proving attractive to key players in post production. The broadcast post production industry is coming to realise that it can save both time and money with FORscene’s web-based workflows.”
Sex Education Vs Pornography is a Cheetah Television production (part of Endemol UK) for Channel 4.
Transmission runs from 30th March – 2nd April 2009.
