Breathe Post uses FORscene to provide out of office access for clients
Forbidden Technologies today announced that HD post specialists Breathe Post Production have adopted FORscene, its web-based video editing platform, to provide a ‘virtual edit suite’ service for clients to log, shot select and review content without having to be in the post-production house.
FORscene’s logging tools allow frame-accurate metadata to be added to rushes. Using its editing functionality, clients on FORscene can cut together rough assemblies before fine cut and final post in Breathe’s HD online suites.
Launched in the Spring of 2006 Breathe Posts was formed following the merger of AIR and Strongroom Studios, combining the post divisions of each facility to bring together AIR’s 15 years in high-end audio post for drama, film and games with Strongroom’s extensive track record in factual programming and music DVD. Breathe offers a full range of post production services including offline, HD on-line, HD grading, graphics, VFX and surround sound audio post.
Rob Kelly, Managing Director of Breathe said:
“We have been looking for some time for a secure, cost effective, flexible solution to allow our clients to review and edit footage remotely via a web based interface. FORscene provides the answer, and following collaboration with Forbidden’s R&D department now integrates fully into post workflows using both Avid and Final Cut Pro editing systems.”
“Clients can have their footage uploaded in real time, and have secure access to their material from anywhere in the world, whenever they need to. Simultaneously capturing into our shared storage for in-house off-line editing or on-line finishing means the economies of scale achieved by running FORscene as a networked system throughout both our premises makes this a very attractive solution.”
Through their Soho Net connection, Breathe upload tape based content via HD SDI and upload tapeless media direct before providing secure access to clients. Auto-conform at HD on-line
resolutions are facilitated via an AAF export from FORscene allowing it to fit seamlessly into the workflow. Breathe are also taking advantage of FORscene’s content management system allowing
them to manage their clients projects during the post-production process.
Stephen Streater, CEO of Forbidden Technologies, said:
“We are very pleased to be working with Breathe. Post-production companies are increasingly waking up to the advantages of a modern, efficient web-based workflow – to the benefit of both them and their clients.”
