Forbidden Technologies plc Wins Royal Television Society Technology Award
Video streaming and editing specialist Forbidden Technologies plc, is delighted to have won the Royal Television Society Award for Technology in the Post Production Process, at last night’s ceremony at BAFTA in London.
Forbidden’s flagship product, FORscene is a ‘pay-as-you-go’ web-based tool for video post production, (logging, editing, browsing and publishing) for broadcast, Internet and mobile video. Its Java design allows modern PCs, Macs and Linux machines to use FORscene without any software installation or hardware upgrades. Its interface is designed to be intuitive, responsive, reliable and accessible anywhere, anytime.
FORscene has been used by major broadcast and production companies including GMTV, Mentorn and Granada. Forbidden Technologies has a reseller partnership with Nats Post Production the large, independent, well-respected provider of post-production facilities.
The RTS Technology Awards, which are the “gold standard of achievement in the television community”, seek to recognise excellence in technological activities from ‘scene-to-screen and back’. The award for Technology in the Post Production Process was presented by Stephen Cole, Presenter, BBC World. This award is for products which have done the most to improve the processes between original creation or capture of new content, or the restoration of previously-captured content, and the storage of completed content prior to delivery to the user.
Vic Steel, Chairman of Forbidden Technologies, said today:
“It is particularly appropriate that FORscene should have been given such a prestigious award. It underlines the recognition by the broadcast production industry of a revolutionary new workflow based on web technology.
“The increasing success of FORscene is already reflected by the early stage interest we have received from clients including GMTV, Mentorn, Nats, and Granada. Granada’s reality TV show ‘Trust Me I’m a Holiday Rep’ was the first programme broadcast which was made using FORscene.
“The award is a credit to the hard work and dedication of all our staff. “
