ITV Manchester uses FORscene to provide wide-area editing
Forbidden Technologies, the AIM quoted developer and marketer of a leading web-based video platform, today announced that 3SixtyMedia will be providing FORscene for the post-production of The Lakes, produced by Shiver Productions for ITV.
3SixtyMedia have a FORscene Server in Manchester. The production, shot principally on DV Cam with some DigiBeta, was digitised simultaneously via Firewire & SDI into FORscene and Final Cut Pro. This provided production staff on location with web-based access to the rushes, giving edit producers and directors frame-accurate logging and editing tools during shooting. This provided greater control over material, and accelerated the workflow with pre-edits being made before filming was finished.
Once filming was complete, edits created in FORscene were exported as XMLs from FORscene to be re-connected with the full resolution media in Final Cut Pro at 3SixtyMedia.
David Boyle, Head of Post Production at 3SixtyMedia, said:
We provide a wide range of services and are always on the lookout for advanced technology that can deliver new benefits for our clients. We set up FORscene quickly and it was easy to use. The interface is surprisingly powerful and our clients have found it extremely useful on this production during the shoot and in the edit.
Stephen Streater, CEO, Forbidden Technologies, said:
We are pleased to have 3SixtyMedia and ITV joining our list of major clients. Their use of our recently announced SDI capture and FORscene Server products demonstrate rapid market acceptance of these significant developments.
