Forbidden Technologies today announces the completion of a major post production project with ITV. FORscene was chosen for Marbella Belles, a documentary series charting the lives and loves of British women living and working in Spain's coastal resorts. Filmed in Spain, the production team utilised Forbidden's FORscene web-based post production platform to ingest, log and review video content.
Used through the shooting period, FORscene enabled the Marbella Belles production team to ingest the footage directly into the web-based system, allowing loggers in the UK to immediately begin work on the rushes. Once logged, the team on location was able to access FORscene to review the material, shot select and significantly short cut the post production process.
By providing web-based access, FORscene enabled ITV to strip out cost and achieve significant time reductions throughout the post production process.
Commenting on the project, Natalie Wall, production manager on Marbella Belles, said:
"The production team was on location for the duration of the shoot. FORscene saved expense and time by cutting out the need to do transfers. Rushes were uploaded on to FORscene enabling the content to be viewed by the team in Spain. Once the rushes had been logged in the UK, the location based team could review the material and start ordering their shots during down times. Allowing users to view content irrespective of their location, made an incredible impact on the speed and efficiency of the post production process. FORscene also allowed the executive producers back in the UK to immediately view material shot in Spain, to make fast decisions on content and editorial style."
Used by ITV for its 'Trust Me I'm a Holiday Rep' series and 'Extreme Ghost Stories', today's announcement is evidence of the adoption of FORscene by production teams across the ITV productions portfolio.
"By delivering immediate access to on-location footage, FORscene is helping production companies to achieve strategic cost reduction targets, while significantly reducing the time to market of the completed programme. In today's competitive broadcast industry, these are key business goals,"
said Stephen Streater, CEO of Foribdden Technologies.
"We are delighted to have been chosen again by ITV, and look forward to working with the company on projects througout 2007."
The six part series airs on ITV 1 soon.
