22 April 2020, London – Blackbird plc (AIM: BIRD), the developer and seller of the market-leading cloud video editing platform, announces that Blackbird is being used by Liverpool Football Club for remote video production.
Liverpool FC has chosen Blackbird for all remote video editing and publishing, with its production team now able to access Blackbird’s fully-featured, easy to use editing toolset through a browser, even on low bandwidth.
Liverpool FC has a very well regarded marketing and media production team and have won multiple awards, and so it’s critical during this period of uncertainty that the function can continue to operate to the highest of standards. The club will use Blackbird to re-purpose its vast archive of file-based content for publishing to the club’s website and digital channels including Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and Instagram, which have over 80 million followers combined.
Using Blackbird, the club’s production team will be able to rapidly clip, edit and publish short form content as well as produce longer form content, interviews and other engaging material for distribution across its full array of digital channels.
Blackbird will be deployed via the Amazon Web Services public cloud.
Blackbird CEO, Ian McDonough, said: “As a lifelong Liverpool fan I am genuinely delighted to work with the club and enable remote video production. The Liverpool FC digital media team will be able to access their centrally stored file-based archives from any browser or laptop and continue to engage their global fanbase, whether they will be watching their heroes on TV, web or social media.”
Blackbird drives awareness, reach and monetization for brands in the sports, news, entertainment and enterprise sectors. Customers include IMG, Deltatre, Peloton, A+E Networks, Eleven Sports, the U.S Department of State and 49 local US news stations with TownNews.
