Global media agency uses web-based editing tools to improve turnaround of content.
Forbidden Technologies today announced that Ogilvy Public Relations (OPR), part of the UK's biggest brand communications agency Ogilvy Group UK, commissioned FORscene for its recent work launching two new Nissan models at the Geneva Motor Show 2009.
Working on behalf of its client Nissan, OPR commissioned FORscene to complete a new tapeless workflow system to enable faster content syndication.
FORscene was chosen because of its web-based access and frame accurate functionality. With all content being shot in XDCAM, the clips were uploaded using FORscene's Load Mac software allowing staff in London to edit videos of the launch to be used for Nissan's website. Meanwhile the team in Geneva worked on preparing broadcast feeds, with a direct playout back to OPR resulting in pick ups from international broadcasters including BBC, CNBC, Bloomberg, Rai and TVE.
Adam Bennett, Production Manager at Redworks Broadcast, Ogilvy's new digital hub and post-production facility said:
"At Ogilvy we're always looking for new options to improve content delivery to our clients. FORscene is well suited to the highly pressured environment where I work, helping quality control in the end product."
Once edited in FORscene, EDLs and XMLs were published and automatically connected with the full resolution content back in Geneva for delivery.
Neil Evely, Technical Director, Redworks Broadcast, added:
"The workflow support from FORscene helped this innovative project run smoothly. Using FORscene and recieving feeds directly into Redworks Broadcast saved costs on transfers but more importantly, hours in delivery time. We're looking forward to providing FORscene on a commercial basis to our clients."
Stephen Streater, CEO of Forbidden Technologies, said:
"In today's market, where content quality must be matched by speed of delivery, we are pleased to be working with Ogilvy, one of the outstanding innovators in this field."
The 79th International Motor Show in Geneva ran from the 5-15th March 2009.
