Border effect for Vertical Video

Extended keyboard shortcuts

Blackbird has added keyboard shortcuts to mute/reset audio levels on selected audio clips within the editor. This can also be combined with other functions as part of a macro.

WEBP file format

Blackbird now supports the ingest of WEBP format still images along with rendering from these as a high quality export source.

Extended colourspace support

Blackbird has extended our handling of colourspaces to include BT470 (SD NTSC) for improved compatibility with older capture devices in addition to the changes already available for SDR and HDR content ingest.

HEIC file format

Blackbird now supports the ingest of HEIC format images. These are typically ‘live’ mode images from Apple devices. Blackbird will use the assigned keyframe from these files as the still used in the editor.

Improved HDR conversion

We’ve upgraded our support for converting HLG (Hybrid Log-Gamma) colourspace footage to standard SDR (Rec. 709). The latest refinements deliver significantly improved colour accuracy and visual consistency. Side-by-side comparisons now reveal more faithful colour reproduction, ensuring your final output looks closer to the creative intent.
