Blackbird’s latest product release updates video processing, operating system and integration areas of the product and technology.
The latest upgrade to the Blackbird platform is due to be released on 18th November 2025 and will be made available during a maintenance window of 11:00-16:00 GMT (6:00-11:00 EST) on the day.
Updated media file handling software
We have performed a significant upgrade to the FFmpeg software we use for decoding and encoding media files. This is in order to bring the benefits of greater file support breadth and stability.
Edge Operating system updates
Blackbird Edge runs on a Debian based operating system or container image. If your server has not been updated recently – support will be scheduling your routine updates with you.
