Product updates: October 2025

Blackbird’s latest product release updates video processing, operating system and integration areas of the product and technology including colorspace support extensions and authentication resilience improvements.

The latest upgrade to the Blackbird platform is due to be released on 7th October 2025 and will be made available during a maintenance window of 11:00-16:00 BST (6:00-11:00 EST) on the day.

Colorspace support

Blackbird has broad colourspace support and we add BT470M color primaries in this update which may be used on some older content types.

Single sign on

Our SAML based single sign on now supports broader variances in system clocks to ensure maximum compatibility where users machines may have slightly drifted clocks.

Edge Operating system updates

Blackbird Edge runs on a Debian based operating system or container image. If your server has not been updated recently – support will be scheduling your routine updates with you.
